The main subject of the present paper is the analysis of the specifics in the development of the vignettes of chapter 138 of The Book of the Dead on the papyrus of the Third Intermediate Period (1069/740 BC), especially the 21st Dynasty. Chapter 138 was rarely attested during the New Kingdom until the end of the Third Intermediate Period.
